Vincenzo Carrasco has been a drummer since he could pick up sticks. Upon graduating from Notre Dame in 1996, he moved to Chicago and played in several unheralded bands before moving back to South Bend.
Upon his return, he began studying African drumming in earnest, taking lessons from established masters like Micheal Markus and Mmadi Kieta.
Vincenzo started RhythmWorks in 2004, a drum and dance group that performed extensively both locally and throughout the region. He joined what would later become Uzima in 2014 at the behest of Kelly Morgan, who had worked with Vincenzo in RhythmWorks.
Uzima is now his main focus professionally and he's proud to be a part of this talented and dynamic spiritual family!
